ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – New Jersey Senate President Stephen M. Sweeney will be the luncheon keynote speaker at the 20th Annual East Coast Gaming Congress and i-Gaming Institute, to be held at the Waterfront Conference Center at Harrah’s Resort here on May 25-26.
Sweeney, D-Gloucester, has been the central figure in the ongoing debate over whether to allow expand casino gambling beyond Atlantic City, which if allowed will impact every gaming jurisdiction in the eastern United States. A bill sponsored by Sweeney and passed by the state Senate would allow two resort casinos, pending final passage and a statewide referendum.
Sweeney will join dozens of corporate CEOs, leading regulators from throughout the country as well as other industry leaders in addressing the conference. Other panels will feature critical topics ranging from the future of i-gaming and fantasy sports, to lotteries, regulation, retail gaming and gaming saturation.
“This is familiar and welcoming territory for Senate President Sweeney, as he has addressed our conference in the past, and we can again expect him to provide some essential insight into one of the most scrutinized issues facing not only New Jersey but the entire Northeast,” said Michael Pollock, Managing Director of Spectrum Gaming Group, a co-organizer and co- founder of the event.
“Our conference has traditionally attracted the highest elected officials in this state, from Senate presidents to sitting, former and active governors and US senators, and that tradition continues this year – our 20thanniversary,” said Lloyd D. Levenson, CEO of Cooper Levenson LLC, also a co-organizer and co-founder of the event. “We are proud to hold the event at a beautiful Caesars facility as well, which will provide our attendees with an opportunity to see how this company is investing in its own future, and in the future of Atlantic City.”
The Friedmutter Group of Las Vegas, an industry-leading architectural and design firm based in Las Vegas, also serves as a co-organizer.
More than 600 gaming operators, equipment manufacturers, regulators, attorneys, architects, analysts, public officials, investors and other gaming-related professionals are expected to attend.
