Read Advisory Opinions on School Ethics Commission website

The School Ethics Commission recently posted three advisory opinions to their website, A20-11,   A19-17 and A24-17.   The Cooper Levenson Education Law group encourages our clients to take a moment to read these advisory opinions which help to clarify the landscape surrounding conflicts of interest for board members and the matters upon which they can vote.

Of special interest, A24-17 includes a useful chart with respect to votes involving family and relatives, as well as with respect to personnel matters involving the superintendent. Please be advised that A24-17 supersedes prior advisory opinions.
