Virtual Beer & Spirit Tasting Event on May 4

Benefit Let Us Eat – Please and the CFBNJ

Cooper Levenson is inviting the community to a virtual beer and spirit tasting event to benefit Let Us Eat, Please (a charity started by the law firm’s founder) and the Community Food Bank of New Jersey (CFBNJ). Hosted by Little Water Distillery, the event will allow participants to sample unique spirits and craft beers at home while helping families who are food insecure.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, 93,000 residents of Atlantic, Cape May and Cumberland Counties are projected to be food insecure, including 32,130 children (1 in 4).  “Families shouldn’t have to choose between putting food on the table or paying rent or electric bills,” said Kenneth J. Calemmo, chief operating officer of Cooper Levenson and chairman of Let Us Eat –  Please, Inc.

Event participants will pick up a tasting kit for two featuring Little Water Distillery’s Prosperity Run, Rusted Revolver Gin and 48 Blocks DARK Chocolate Martini, as well as craft beers from Hidden Sands Brewery, Pinelands Brewing Company, and Three 3’s Brewing Company. Pick up your kit between April 30 and May 4 at the Community Food Bank of South Jersey, 6735 Black Horse Pike, Egg Harbor Township. Note hours: 4/29, 4/30, & 5/4 between 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., and Saturday 5/1 between 10 a.m. -12 noon. Ticket holders will be invited to watch the virtual tasting live on May 4 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m., or on YouTube at their leisure after the event.

Tickets for the virtual tasting for two are $50 (or $75 which includes a $25 donation for 75 meals). For more information or to purchase tickets, visit https://give.cfbnj.org/event/let-us-eat-please-virtual-tasting/e332224.

About Let Us Eat, Please

Let Us Eat, Please was founded by late James L. Cooper when he learned from his daughter, a teacher, about our New Jersey children who regularly attended school hungry. Jim, who had already devoted much of his time advocating for community, civil rights, and philanthropic causes, formed ‘Let Us Eat – Please’ just after his 82nd birthday. Cooper Levenson, Attorneys at Law is grateful and pleased to be in a position to continue the work of ‘Let Us Eat – Please’ in memory and honor of its founding partner.

Starting with just one school district, the ‘Let Us Eat – Please’ program has expanded each year to include additional area districts. Every two weeks over the course of summer, families, identified by the school as needing assistance, receive a 30-pound box of groceries, valued at more than $40, at no cost to them.
