A panel of experts will convene for a panel entitled “Gender Equality in the Gaming Industry: Leveraging Talent for Sustainable Growth” at the 20thAnnual East Coast Gaming Congress & iGaming Institute, Thursday, May 26, 2016, from 8:50am to 9:40am at Harrah’s Resort Waterfront Conference Center.” The panel is described:
Women represent almost 50% of the employee base of the gaming industry, but are significantly underrepresented in the management ranks. Numerous studies outside of gaming have shown that economic growth improves with more women in senior management positions, and companies that invest in women’s employment gain a competitive advantage. At a time when gaming companies are searching for a competitive edge, have we reached the tipping point where investing in women will make great companies even greater?
Virginia McDowell, President and Board Chair, Global Gaming Women, will moderate. Speakers include:
James Allen, Chief Executive officer, Seminole Gaming & Hard Rock International
Jan Jones Blackhurst, Executive Vice President – Government Relations & Corporate Responsibility, Caesars Entertainment Corporation
Jane Bokunewicz, Assistant Professor of Hospitality and Tourism Management Studies, Stockton University
Laura Lee, Senior Vice President, Regional Human Resources, MGM Resorts International
Panel topics will range from the future of i-gaming and fantasy sports, to lotteries, retail gaming and gaming saturation. Highlights of the event will include keynote addresses from 12 CEOs of leading casino operators.
