New York New York – Is it in the cards?

With the legislative session ending in days –on June 21 to be exact — the New York Senate, for the second year in a row, passed a bill that would permit online poker to licensed and conducted in connection with land-based casinos and racinos. Up to 11 licenses would be issued, the upfront license fee would be 10 million dollars, and the tax rate would be 15 percent.

This bill varies from last year’s bill as it requires a ” bad actor” evaluation to be made.

The Assembly must act quickly or the proposed bill will become just another iGaming expansion legislative  failure. Assembly support is not assured.

If passed in some form-the bill will land on Governor Cuomo’s desk for signature.
