Funds Benefit Let Us Eat – Please, Inc. & Community FoodBank of New Jersey, Southern Branch
Galloway Township Public Schools Superintendent Stephen Santilli and Christine Burgess, Director of Student Services presented a check to Let Us Eat – Please committee member Amy Houck Elco for the summer feeding program administrated by the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, Southern Branch and Let Us Eat – Please, Inc. on April 20 at the school district office. Teachers and staff of the Galloway Township School District donated through a district-wide dress down day for the summer program, which is designed to help fill the gap that challenges families who depend on low or no-cost meals during the school year.

ABOUT THE CHARITIES
Let Us Eat – Please, Inc. was created in 2012 by the late James L. Cooper when he learned from his daughter, a teacher, about the effects of hunger on the one in five New Jersey children who regularly attend school hungry. Jim, who had devoted much of his 82 years advocating for community, civil rights, and philanthropic causes, formed ‘Let Us Eat – Please, Inc.’ to help address the issue. Cooper Levenson, Attorneys at Law is grateful and pleased to be in a position to continue the work of ‘Let Us Eat – Please, Inc.’ in memory and honor of our founding partner.
Community Food Bank of New Jersey, a member of Feeding America®, is the leading anti-hunger and anti-poverty organization in the state, serving 15 of the 21 New Jersey counties. Last year, CFBNJ distributed food for over 86 million meals, 34% of which was fresh produce, through its network of more than 800 community partners. We address hunger as a health issue by providing more fruits and vegetables, nutrition education and medical screenings to inspire positive lifestyles. For our hungry neighbors, the Community FoodBank of New Jersey is the powerful agent of change that fills the emptiness caused by hunger and provides resources that are essential to earning a sustainable living.
