‘Future Mayor’ Honored At Absecon Board Of Education Meeting

ABSECON – City resident and fourth-grader Logan Williamson wants to be mayor someday.

So when the H. Ashton Marsh School student won the Cooper Levenson holiday card contest, he envisioned meeting Absecon Mayor John Armstrong.

However, the mayor was not present when Williamson was honored at a Dec. 16 cupcake party for his class.

However, since Mayor Armstrong is a former partner at Cooper Levenson, the firm arranged a visit to Williamson’s classroom. Not only did Mayor Armstrong promise to “keep the seat warm” for Williamson, but Cooper Levenson attorney Chris Barrett ended the awards presentation at the Absecon Board of Education meeting on Jan. 28 with a campaign slogan. “Remember in 2040, Vote Williamson!”

Williamson is one of five area winners in Cooper Levenson’s holiday art contest designed to engage students in the arts as well as help raise awareness of the firm’s chosen charity, the U.S. Marine Corp Toys for Tots, which is highlighted on the cards. Williamson’s award-winning drawing is a picture of a snowman outside in the snow.
