Atlantic City, N.J. — Brittany A. Bonetti, an attorney at Cooper Levenson, has co-authored a chapter on medical marijuana for the 2020 Health Law Handbook published by Thomson Reuters. The chapter, “Medical Marijuana: State and Federal Law Thickets and Practical Implications,” explores the federal and state guidance and laws on cannabis, and the status of hemp and CBD under the 2014 and 2018 Farm Bills.
The 2020 Health Law Handbook is the 32nd edition and continues its longstanding tradition of soliciting contributions from experts around the country on a variety of topics of interest to health lawyers. This year, the handbook features 16 articles by 26 authors. Bonetti co-authored her chapter with attorneys Lisa Gora and Neil M. Willner, who also consult on cannabis law.
Bonetti is an associate in the Cooper Levenson’s Healthcare and Cannabis Law practice groups. She assists hospitals and health systems, medical staffs, individual physicians and physician groups in business transactions and regulatory matters of all types. She regularly navigates transactions involving complicated healthcare regulations, including the Stark law and Anti-Kickback Statute. Bonetti graduated from George Washington University, Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts. She received a Master of Public Health concentrating in health systems and policy from the Rutgers School of Public Health. She was awarded the ABA-BNA Award for Excellence in the Study of Health Law when she graduated from Rutgers Law School with a Juris Doctor.
